Biography
Dr. Alan Chmiel is Vice President of Engineering at R.W. Beckett, with prior senior leadership roles in aerospace and medical devices, including developing critical spaceflight hardware and leading a medical product startup to a successful exit. He has been recognized by the U.S. Senate for “Excellence in Aging Research.”
Dr. Chmiel holds degrees in electrical engineering and business, including a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business. His research examines energy markets, decarbonization, and behavioral economics, including renewable-fuel scarcity and pricing, the “Observability Premium” in household investment, the gap between revealed and stated preferences (RP-SP), and polycentric approaches to climate governance.
He serves on the board of the National Oilheat Research Alliance and teaches economics, commerce, and data analytics at Ashland University.
