Biography
Bart Franey is Vice President of Clean Energy Development at National Grid, where he leads initiatives to modernize the electric grid and advance the infrastructure needed to support New York's growing energy demands and energy objectives.
A utility industry executive with more than 25 years of experience, Bart has held senior leadership positions across transmission planning, energy strategy, regulatory policy, deregulated energy markets, asset management, and operations. He brings extensive expertise in infrastructure investment, system reliability, and the integration of public policy with long-term utility planning.
Before joining National Grid, Bart spent more than a decade in nuclear fuel engineering and operations at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, providing him with a strong technical foundation in nuclear plant economics and logistics.
Bart holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Syracuse University.
