Biography
Bill Squadron is the president of OurEnergyPolicy, a non-partisan, non-profit educational organization that facilitates civil and substantive dialogue on all areas associated with energy policy. Mr. Squadron co-founded OEP over ten years ago, and he has guided its path to industry leadership and a nationwide community of more than 6,000 energy professionals.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Squadron was a partner in the Washington, DC office of Morrison & Foerster, where he focused on energy and telecommunications regulations and litigation. He then served as New York City’s Commissioner of the Department of Telecommunications and Energy in the administration of Mayor David Dinkins, where he oversaw the city’s energy policies and energy-based economic development programs.
Mr. Squadron has a B.A. in English Literature and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and served on the Boards of the New York Hall of Science and the Coro New York Leadership Center.
