Biography
Charles Conwell is the co-founder and CEO of Novele, a company turning commercial buildings into active participants in the grid. Novele's EnergyBoard, an indoor-certified modular battery system paired with its BoardOS energy-management software, installs in hours with no infrastructure overhaul, and lets buildings store, optimize, and share power in real time. Across a portfolio, the buildings learn from each other and optimize as a fleet. Charles came to energy from inside the buildings themselves. Over nearly two decades in commercial real estate, as an executive at The Abbey Company in Los Angeles and a partner at ABS Partners in New York, he managed and repositioned large portfolios and saw firsthand how poorly the built environment manages its own energy. Novele is his answer. The company has completed its first permitted commercial deployments, closed its Series A, and builds hardware to indoor-safety standards rarely met in the storage industry.
