Biography
Christopher Hanson is the Founder and Principal of White Flint Partners, a consultancy dedicated to providing business strategy, regulatory, and policy insights to governments, technology start-ups, and established companies in the nuclear and fusion energy sectors. He is also a Non-Resident Scholar in the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Hanson served as 17 th Chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from 2021 to 2025, where he led the modernization of agency’s processes and regulations in anticipation of a major resurgence of nuclear power in the U.S. and around the world. Prior to joining the NRC, Hanson held positions in the U.S. Senate and at the Department of Energy (DOE) where he spearheaded major policy initiatives, including establishment of the Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. Hanson earned master’s degrees from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University.
