Biography
Christopher Cavanagh, PE, is a Consulting Engineer at National Grid with 45 years of experience. After graduating from Cooper Union, he was a senior engineer in nuclear and building service projects at Gibbs & Hill. At National Grid, he works on utility clean energy initiatives involving distributed generation, fuel cells, alternative fuel vehicles, building energy efficiency, and low-carbon fuels including renewable natural gas and hydrogen. He earned an MS from Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon) and an MBA from Dowling College.
He serves as industry liaison for the Institute of Gas Innovation Technology at AEC and sits on the Board of Directors of Utilization Technology Development. A judge and mentor for clean energy incubators including Cleantech Open, he resides in NJ and volunteers as Chairman of the local Land Use Board, Commissioner of the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority, and Problem Captain for Odyssey of the Mind, problem solving competition.
