Biography
Evan van Hook is Viridi’s Chief Sustainability Officer. He has been named one of the Top 15 Social Media Sustainability Influencers, one of the World’s 50 Most Influential ESG Executives and one of the 500 Global Sustainability Thought Leaders. He is a graduate of the Yale Law School, and from 2004-2023 he was Corporate Vice President for Sustainability and later Chief Sustainability Officer of Honeywell International, where he led that company’s ~95% decarbonization. Previously he was a partner at the law firm Sidley & Austin, an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School, Assistant Commissioner of the Environment for New Jersey, and on the Board of NTESS, the company that manages the Sandia National Laboratories. He is the co-author of International Environmental Law (Rutledge 2029). At Viridi he helps customers deploy fail-safe battery storage systems for resilience, energy transition and decarbonization.
