Biography
David Arfin is the CEO and co-founder of NineDot Energy, where he leads the company's strategic vision, financing, and development of innovative urban energy solutions that accelerate the clean energy transition in New York City and beyond.
Previously, David was VP of Strategy at SolarCity, where he created the groundbreaking SolarLease financing program that helped make residential solar accessible to millions of Americans. SolarCity was later acquired by Tesla.
A lifelong clean energy entrepreneur, David has also co-founded Ener-Pacte (France) and SolarVento (Mexico), advised and served on the boards of several cleantech companies, and worked with the U.S. Department of Energy's SunShot Initiative and the U.S. Department of State.
David serves on the NYC Economic Development Corporation's Green Advisory Council and is a member of the Cleantech Leaders Roundtable. He holds degrees from UCLA, Claremont Graduate University, and Stanford University.
