Biography

Dr. Devinder Mahajan is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Inaugural Director of the Institute of Gas Innovation and Technology (I-GIT) at Stony Brook University. He concurrently held a Joint Scientific Staff appointment with Brookhaven National Laboratory (2002-2015) and Site Director of the NSF I/UCRC Center for Bioenergy Research and Development (2008-2015). His research includes monitoring energy policies and development of resilient energy technologies (Hydrogen and its derivatives- renewable natural gas and methanol) for deployment in power and transport sectors. He published over 300 papers, delivered over 130 lectures, edited 8 special journal volumes, and holds 15 patents. He received numerous prestigious awards, key among these are: Fulbright Specialist Scholar (Thailand, 2010); Jefferson Science Fellow, Bureau of Energy Resources, and Economic and Business Bureau, U.S. Department of State (Washington, DC, 2011-2017).
