Biography
Donald Chahbazpour is Director of Policy and Regulatory Strategy within National Grid’s External Affairs and Policy Group, where he leads engagement with academic institutions, industry associations, and policymakers to help shape evolving gas and electric utility systems. His work focuses on decarbonizing the gas network, reducing methane emissions, and advancing policy, strategy, and technology solutions that support the energy transition.
Previously, Don served as Director of Climate Change Compliance and held roles in Corporate Strategy, M&A, and Energy Procurement at National Grid. Before joining National Grid, he worked with an energy technology startup focused on distributed generation technologies and regulatory innovation.
Don holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
