Biography
David Hammer is co-founder of PopWheels, a Brooklyn-based startup building urban-scale battery-swapping systems for the workers who power cities, like delivery riders and street vendors. Subscribers check out UL-certified batteries from a citywide network of fire-safe charging cabinets, saving hundreds of dollars a year while eliminating the risks fueling the battery-fire crisis. In the past year, PopWheels launched America's first battery-swapping hub in Manhattan, logged over 400,000 safe swaps from thousands of customers, and deployed dozens of stations across NYC, Toronto, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.
Before PopWheels, David founded Emissary, a sales intelligence platform used by many of the world's largest enterprise sales organizations; led product for Hawkfish, the tech arm of the Bloomberg presidential campaign; and was a senior product leader at Google, where he created DV360, one of the company's major revenue drivers. He spends his free time being outnumbered by his kids.
