Biography
Maria Pope is president and CEO of Portland General Electric. Under her leadership the company is one of the fastest growing utilities in the country, while advancing clean energy, grid modernization and strong community and policy partnerships. Pope joined PGE in 2009 as CFO and later led power generation, wholesale marketing and resource strategy. Previously, she served as CFO of Mentor Graphics and held senior roles across technology and manufacturing, beginning her career at Morgan Stanley. Pope brings more than two decades of board leadership across energy, financial services, infrastructure and natural resources. She served as chair of Columbia Banking System, is a former chair of the Edison Electric Institute and the Electric Power Research Institute. She also represented the industry on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, including co-chairing its High-Tech and Data Center Working Group. Pope holds degrees from Stanford Graduate School of Business and Georgetown University.
