Biography
Matty Aracich has served as President of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Nassau and Suffolk Counties since 2018, representing 65,000 skilled tradeswomen and tradesmen through 34 local affiliates. He has expanded opportunities for organized labor by advancing Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), supporting major development projects, and strengthening labor standards across Long Island. A leading advocate for local labor utilization, he has helped reform Industrial Development Agency practices and increase union construction employment. Mr. Aracich is committed to creating pathways to the middle class through apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs while promoting workforce diversity and inclusion. Previously, he served as Business Manager of Heat and Frost Insulators Local 12. He also serves as President of the National Offshore Wind Training Center and is the strongest advocate for renewable energy initiatives that create high-quality careers and strengthen Long Island’s workforce.
