Biography
Matthew Satterwhite, Senior Vice President and Head of U.S. Policy at National Grid, leads the company’s U.S. policy and regulatory agenda and oversees its Federal Affairs office in Washington, D.C. He joined National Grid in December 2025.
Matthew brings more than 26 years of regulatory, legal, and policy experience across state government, the judiciary, and the utility industry. Prior to joining National Grid, he held senior leadership roles at American Electric Power, including President of Kentucky Power and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Services, overseeing regulatory strategy across 11 states.
Earlier in his career, Matthew held senior roles supporting judicial and regulatory decision-making on public utility matters and served in leadership positions with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
He currently serves as Education Chair for the Columbus Association of Performing Arts and previously chaired the Columbus Arts Festival and Greater Columbus Arts Council.
