Biography
Michelle Brechtelsbauer is Vice President of Strategy at Newlab, where work is focused on accelerating the commercialization of critical technologies in energy, power systems, and frontier tech. Before Newlab, she helped build and scale a venture-backed advanced nuclear company from the ground up, leading go-to-market strategy across international markets and driving commercial entry from early regulatory and government engagement through project development and commercial negotiations. Earlier in her career, she held roles at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute, working across energy, climate, national security, and emerging technologies. Michelle holds a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama, and has held fellowships with the Atlantic Council's Global Energy Center and the MIT Energy Initiative.
