Biography
Nasser Usman is the CEO of GridGPT, an AI native company building the digital workforce for transmission planning and grid interconnection studies. With more than 18 years of global energy leadership, he combines deep power systems expertise with the scale of agentic AI.
His experience includes grid connection work for more than 3 GW of hyperscale data centers in Texas, alongside several gigawatts of solar, battery energy storage, and combined cycle generation projects. He has advised utilities, governments, developers, and investors on transmission planning, system security, grid modernization, and major infrastructure programs.
Nasser has also led USAID backed initiatives focused on transmission gap analysis, grid harmonization, utility transformation, and cross-country transmission corridors. Formerly Principal Advisor at New Zealand’s Electricity Authority and now Chair of CIGRE Working Group C6.45, he brings regulatory insight, engineering leadership, and technology innovation to redefine how complex power system studies are delivered.
