Biography
With 40 years' experience, Paul leads innovative grid modernization projects, helping North American utilities negotiate major contracts, digitize operations and use advanced analytics and AI to drive enterprise and customer value. Paul supports private equity firms in commercial diligence for acquisitions offering energy technologies and related services.
Paul joined West Monroe from Long Island Power Authority, where he was vice president of power markets and managing director for utility service provider contract oversight. Prior to joining the utility, Paul was deputy Energy Secretary and senior energy advisor in New York.
Paul has been active, serving on professional and community boards for over 30 years. Paul served on the Board on Energy and Environmental System at the National Academies and chaired and served on several NASEM committees. Paul chaired several peer review advisory panels for the US Department of Energy and served as an advisor to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
