Biography
Mr. D'Arienzo is an Associate Partner in IBM Consulting's Data & AI practice, specializing in Energy & Utilities. He has more than 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, data transformation, strategy consulting, operational meteorology, weather and climate risk, grid resilience, outage and vegetation management, energy forecasting, remote sensing, and GIS.
Before joining IBM, he served as Lead Meteorologist at Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO), where he led the Vermont Weather Analytics Center (VWAC) and developed weather intelligence capabilities to enhance grid reliability. Previously, he was an Assistant Meteorologist at Con Edison, supporting operations during Superstorm Sandy and other major weather events.
Mr. D'Arienzo holds a B.S. in Meteorology from Rutgers University and an M.S. in Business Analytics from Quinnipiac University. He serves as Chair of the American Meteorological Society's Board of Private Sector Meteorologists and is a member of Stony Brook University's CEWIT Advisory Board.
