Biography
Silvia Khurrum is a utility industry leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning power generation, utility operations, engineering, and emerging technology deployment. In her current role as Manager of the Clean Energy Team within Con Edison’s Research & Development organization, she leads initiatives focused on building and district steam decarbonization, energy storage, low-carbon fuels, and emerging technologies that support a safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy future. She collaborates with industry, startups, academia, and research institutions to accelerate the commercialization and adoption of innovative energy solutions and first-of-a-kind technology demonstrations. Silvia serves as Chair of the Building Energy Smart Technologies (BEST) Center and Chair of the Decarbonization Committee at Stony Brook University’s Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC), and as an EPRI Industry Technical Advisor. She also mentors STEM students and serves as a guest lecturer at NYU and Columbia University.
