Biography
Simon Critten is a Principal at Arup, where he leads the firm's Energy business across the Americas. With more than 25 years of international experience, he helps governments, utilities, developers, and investors address the strategic, technical, and delivery challenges associated with the transition to more resilient, affordable, and sustainable energy systems.
Having worked on energy and sustainability projects in more than 20 countries, Simon has supported the full project lifecycle, from policy development and system planning through feasibility, delivery, performance evaluation, and impact assessment. His experience spans grid infrastructure, renewable energy, low-carbon technologies, electrification, and energy system modernization, bringing together policy, technology, and investment perspectives to help clients navigate an increasingly complex energy landscape.
Simon serves on the Energy Industry Council (EIC) North American Advisory Board and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).
