Biography
Dr. Thomas A. Butcher is the Technical Director of NORA (National Oilheat Research Alliance) and has over 40 years of experience in building energy systems research. Over the course of his career Tom has been heaviliy involved with research at Brookhaven Lab and in collaboration with the liquid fuels industry. His areas of focus include heat and mass transfer in novel energy conversion systems; energy storage, handling and combustion of alternative biofuels; and efficiency and air pollutant emission measurements. Tom received his B.S. at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, M.S. at Stevens Institute, and PhD at Stony Brook University.
